Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, Joe Burrow, Lamar Jackson and... Jordan Love?

That's right Green Bay Packers fans, quarterback Jordan Love is No. 5 in the opening odds to win the league's MVP award next season, ranking among some of the best players in the entire NFL.

Love's play in the second half of the 2023 season clearly caught the attention of oddsmakers, as he led the Packers to the playoffs and upset the No. 2-seeded Dallas Cowboys in his first postseason action. Love also nearly knocked off the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round.

In the opening MVP odds, Love checks in at +1200, tied with 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy for the fifth-best odds in the NFL. Only Mahomes, Burrow, Jackson and Allen have odds shorter than +1000 to win the league's MVP award next season.

Jordan Love's MVP odds showcase massive expectations in 2024

Love made a name for himself last season, proving that the Packers made the right move to let Aaron Rodgers go and hand him the keys in the 2023 season.

The former first-round pick now appears to be entering next season with even higher expectations, as he's now being considered amongst the best quarterbacks in the NFL. The Packers are no strangers to that, as they've gone from Brett Favre to Rodgers to now Love.

Last season, Love threw for 32 touchdowns and just 11 interceptions while completing 64.2 percent of his passes. The most impressive part of Love's season came late, including the playoffs.

Over his last eight games of the regular season, Love threw for 2,150 yards, completing an impressive 70.2 percent of his passes in the process. The young quarterback also posted an absurd 18-1 touchdown to interception ratio, which continued into the playoffs.

Love threw five scores and just two picks in the postseason, although his second pick against San Francisco ended Green Bay's season. Still, it was a huge learning experience for the young quarterback.

For Packers fans that were nervous about the future, Love answered a lot of questions this past season. He's now gaining attention from Vegas, and he could see his career trajectory take off if he is in the MVP conversation throughout the 2024 season.
