Green Bay Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst has a really interesting offseason ahead of him.

With the major question of this roster answered (quarterback), Gutekunst is armed with a ton of 2024 NFL Draft capital, as well as one of the most talented young rosters in the league from top to bottom. There will be difficult decisions at just about every position group on this Packers roster, even including some first-year players the team could look to move on from after just one season.

Some of these decisions could be considered extremely impulsive, but there are also certain situations where believing in the "process" can get you completely burned in the long run.

Which young players might the Packers move on from after just one year with the team?

1. Anders Carlson

It's hard to believe in hindsight, but Anders Carlson actually went the first five weeks of the 2023 season without missing a kick. Things started to go a little downhill for Carlson as a rookie when he missed his first kick of the year in Denver, a game that was eventually decided by just two points.

Carlson would go on to miss six field goals over the course of the remainder of the regular season, as well as five extra points for 11 missed kicks in total. His missed kicks against the Broncos and Giants were arguably the difference between the Packers going 9-8 and backing into the postseason as the seventh seed and finishing 11-6 overall.

But nothing hurts more than his missed kick in the playoffs against the 49ers. That kick could ultimately be the one that causes the Packers to move on in the 2024 offseason. We all know Carlson has a big leg. He's likely got a bright future ahead of him. But if you can't rely on a guy, how do you justify taking him into the next season?

The 2023 sixth-round pick is absolutely on the chopping block this offseason if the Packers can find a suitable and obvious upgrade.
