The Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions will get Thanksgiving Day started with a classic NFC North battle.

This game is a pivotal one for both teams. The Lions are still in the hunt for the No. 1 seed in the NFC, while a win for the Packers means they'll stay in the race for a wild card spot in the playoffs.

You can read my full betting preview for the game here, but in this article, I'm going to try to do the impossible; predict the exact final score of the game. Let's dive into it.

Packers vs. Lions odds, spread, and total

Packers final score prediction

If you read my betting preview, you know that I think the Packers will cover the 7.5-point spread, but do I think they'll win the game as well? Sneakily, I think they do. I think we're in for a classic NFC North showdown that'll come down to the final possession.

But, what about the total? The difference maker in this game, in my opinion, is the Packers defense. Not enough people have given that unit the respect they deserve. Green Bay's defense has been a top 10 unit in some metrics and have shut down opposing offenses when they need to, including against the Chargers last week.

So, I think we're going to see a bit of a defensive battle with the Packers getting the edge at the final whistle.

Final score prediction: Packers 21, Lions 20
