Round 2 (41): Edgerrin Cooper, LB, Texas A&M

Under new defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley, the Green Bay Packers are going to be transitioning to a 4-3 base defense and they're going to need help at the linebacker position in this year's draft, especially after releasing former starter De'Vondre Campbell. One player whose name keeps coming up in connection with Green Bay is Texas A&M star Edgerrin Cooper, who has the type of athletic traits the Packers covet and big-time range at his position.

Last season at Texas A&M, Cooper had 84 total tackles, 17.0 tackles for loss, 8.0 sacks, and a pair of forced fumbles. He has tremendous instincts at the position and hits violently when he gets a full head of steam. From NFL.com's Lance Zierlein:

"Highly physical linebacker with elite top-end speed and a burning desire to get to the football that can lead to some inconsistencies in his play. Cooper is average at diagnosing the run but takes off around traffic on a mission to find the ball-carrier once he sees it," writes Zierlein.

Having Cooper alongside Quay Walker would give the Packers a tremendous young duo with speed, athleticism, and playmaking ability. Playing behind a tremendous defensive front, these two could really feast.
