Round 2 (58): Cole Bishop, S, Utah

Even after adding Xavier McKinney, the safety position remains an area of focus for the Green Bay Packers. In fact, the secondary as a whole needs to continue to be looked at.

Luckily for Green Bay, the safety market in the NFL Draft could really come to them. With so much depth in NFL free agency, it's possible you could get safeties in the 2024 NFL Draft class a round or two later than you might otherwise. Supply and demand...

Green Bay's love for players with high Relative Athletic Scores in combination with their love for Senior Bowl players could ultimately lead to a marriage between them and Utah safety Cole Bishop. Bishop's ability to play deep, in the box, in the slot, or attacking the line of scrimmage makes him arguably the ideal player to match with Xavier McKinney.

You need to have guys who can play the "Vic Fangio" two-high look in today's NFL, and you also need guys who can come up in everyone's TV frame and have the range to make plays that way.

Having players like McKinney and Bishop at the safety position would give the Packers elite athleticism, range, and instincts. Defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley will have no shortage of talent on the defensive front to work with just walking in Day 1, so you need guys on the back end who can take advantage of the pressure they're going to create.
