Round 3 (91): Cam Hart, DB, Notre Dame

With the 91st pick, we went after an intriguing athlete out of Notre Dame -- Cam Hart. Hart is 6-foot-2, 207 pounds, so he's not the typical build you see at the cornerback position. Here's an assessment of Hart's game from NFL.com's Lance Zierlein:

"Traits-based cornerback with an impressive blend of size and athleticism that could lead teams to project what he could be rather than what he is. Hart's size advantage shows up when he's getting after receivers from press, but he doesn't always play big when it comes to run support and attacking the catch point."

There are a number of pieces within that scouting report that could entice the Packers. If they were willing to invest in Christian Watson coming out of North Dakota State, it could be that a player like Cam Hart is really a defensive version of those traits. Hart's overall athletic traits are intriguing enough that at the bottom of round three, you figure you'd at least be getting a stud on special teams.

Round 4 (126): Elijah Jones, CB, Boston College

I don't know that there will be a mock draft scenario before late April in which Elijah Jones doesn't make sense for the Packers.

Jeff Hafley is coming from the Boston College program, so it stands to reason that he'd want to bring one of the best prospects he developed along with him. Jones also fits what the Packers like in terms of his overall athletic profile, and they have a need at the cornerback position.

This would be an outstanding fit on Day 3 if Jones is still on the board.
