5 Packers players whose stock is soaring after Week 1 win vs. Bears
- Offensive line balled out
- Rookie pass rusher on the rise
- Breakout year for 10 and 87?
4. Romeo Doubs breakout szn is on
There was undoubtedly a little concern from the Green Bay Packers fan base leading up to this game due to the fact that Christian Watson wasn't playing with his hamstring issue. The fact that Romeo Doubs also had to ramp up in practices leading up to this game was a concern as well. But Doubs ended up playing, and he ended up playing very well.
When your WR1 is down, you need someone to come in and cash in on the opportunity, and although Doubs caught four passes for just 26 yards, he converted two of the Packers' red zone opportunities into touchdowns, including this absolute beauty:
Hopefully, this can be a true breakout year for Doubs, who was picked in the fourth round of last year's draft and wound up having a solid rookie season. If the Packers can get this kind of ball dominance from him at the catch point, he's going to do more than just have red zone success.
5. Devonte Wyatt
I don't think you can talk about this game and not talk about how impressive 2022 first-round pick Devonte Wyatt was.
He was consistently finding ways to affect and impact plays both in the run game and in the pass game, finishing with 2 QB hits, 1.5 sacks, 2 TFLs, and 3 tackles in total. He is currently 10th in the entire NFL in terms of overall pressure rate as well.
It was a great day for Brian Gutekunst, who has taken a ton of heat for the way he's managed this Green Bay Packers roster over the last handful of years. The Packers' home-grown talent was on full display on both sides of the ball in this one and for a player like Wyatt to be emerging alongside Kenny Clark?
That's going to make this Packers defensive front one of the toughest to handle in the entire league.
