5 Jordan Love replacements Packers need to start thinking about after Week 5 loss
2. Trade for Cardinals QB Kyler Murray
One of the more fascinating scenarios to watch league-wide is going to be what the Arizona Cardinals end up doing with Kyler Murray. Murray was the top pick in the 2019 NFL Draft by the Cardinals when they were hopeful they could pair him with one of his old college coaches -- Kliff Kingsbury -- and have long-term success at the NFL level.
They had success, but it wasn't of the long-term variety. Now, Murray is rehabbing his way back from a torn ACL suffered late last season. The Cardinals currently have Joshua Dobbs operating their offense and Murray's situation could be up in the air if Arizona winds up with one of the top two picks in the NFL Draft.
If they do wind up with one of the top two picks in next year's draft, there's a chance they will have to ultimately decide between Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, and Kyler Murray (coming off of injury) as their long-term QB.
Considering the current regime in Arizona didn't draft Murray, I would say it's a relatively safe bet that Murray is at least somewhat on the outside looking in, even with his massive contract. The Cardinals would have to eat some of his salary in any trade, but the Packers are an interesting option to watch for him if he does become available.
