Ranking the Green Bay Packers' last 10 first-round draft picks
8. Damarious Randall, DB (2015)
It's wild to think it's been almost 10 years since the Packers drafted Damarious Randall, the defensive back out of Arizona State. Randall had outstanding ball production at Arizona State (six interceptions, four forced fumbles) and he carried that right over into the NFL.
In three years with the Packers, Randall had 10 interceptions and 32 passes defensed. Unfortunately, he was traded to the Cleveland Browns in 2018 and that's where his career started to lose its footing. He had four interceptions in his first year with the Browns, but his production fell off in 2019 and he hasn't played an NFL game since 2020.
7. Darnell Savage, S (2019)
Things were looking really good over the first couple of years of Darnell Savage's career with the Green Bay Packers. He had six interceptions in his first 29 NFL starts and looked like he was well on his way to becoming a staple in Green Bay's defense.
Until Joe Barry arrived. The hiring of Barry spelled certain doom for Savage, though he still showed glimpses of his first-round talent over the next three seasons. Ultimately, the Jacksonville Jaguars are buying that the scheme was the issue for Savage in Green Bay, because they paid him a three-year deal worth almost $22 million this offseason in free agency.
