Watch: Bears tried to fight Jaire Alexander, proving Packers are still inside their heads
Jordan Love's first drive as the Green Bay Packers' starting quarterback resulted in a touchdown, and the Chicago Bears couldn't handle it. Just moments later, the Bears were trying to fight Jaire Alexander.
Alexander shoved Bears quarterback Justin Fields out of bounds, but he did so fairly. It wasn't a late hit.
But the Bears' frustration mounted, and several defenders came flying in toward Alexander. The Packers' All-Pro made an outstanding play.
Bears tried to fight Packers cornerback Jaire Alexander after he made a fair tackle
What did the Bears expect Alexander to do, let Fields stay in bounds and run past him for a first down? He made a tackle, and a good one.
Both teams are fired up to start the game. Jordan Love is the calmest person in the stadium; he looked comfortable on the Packers' opening touchdown drive.
Here is the video of the fight:
The Bears have already had enough of this new-look Packers team. After years of Aaron Rodgers owning them, watching Jordan Love lead a touchdown drive on the first attempt must have been hard for the fans to watch.
It's fun to see a heated exchange in this rivalry. This is exactly what we should see in Packers-Bears games.
It has been an entertaining start to the game. Chicago went for it on fourth down in its own territory. Green Bay's defense held firm, and the offense made the most of excellent field position. The Packers marched down the field, with Aaron Jones playing a key role.
Love finished it off with a touchdown pass to second-year wide receiver Romeo Doubs in the back of the end zone, giving the Packers the ideal start to their new era.
This should be a fun battle for the rest of the afternoon. We are set for a close game.
