Two weeks ago, the Green Bay Packers released both of their backup quarterbacks after a disappointing training camp. That decision is coming back to haunt them.

Jordan Love suffered an MCL sprain in the Packers' season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles, an injury that will reportedly cause him to miss 3-6 weeks. Having already lost their opener, Green Bay must find a way to avoid a losing streak and pick up some wins in Love's absence.

With only one healthy quarterback on the 53-man roster, the Packers will undoubtedly make some moves before their home opener against the Indianapolis Colts.

But who will back up Love?

Updated Packers quarterback depth chart after Jordan Love injury

Malik Willis is the backup quarterback on Green Bay's depth chart, while Sean Clifford is an option on the practice squad. The fact Matt LaFleur didn't promote Clifford to the gameday roster in Week 1 proves Willis is the clear QB2.

At the end of the preseason, the Packers released Clifford and Michael Pratt and traded for Willis. Two weeks later, Willis is in line to start.

General manager Brian Gutekunst needs to look around the league for other options. The Packers need to add a third quarterback.

One option is to bring back Michael Pratt, who is currently on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers' practice squad. The Packers would need to make room on the 53-man roster, but he knows the system and outplayed Clifford for most of the preseason.

Gutekunst could turn to a veteran free agent like Ryan Tannehill, but with only eight days before the Packers' home opener, it would ask a lot of the former Pro Bowler to get up to speed with the system so quickly.

As Love only faces a short-term absence, the Packers will likely move forward with Willis while adding another quarterback to the practice squad.
