The Green Bay Packers are in the middle of an offseason that is all about change. Most of their losses are coming from the defensive side of the ball, as defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley has brought some of their top defensive assistants with him after being named head coach of the Miami Dolphins.
The offense is going to look a lot different as well, as free agency promises to rip many key starters away from them. One such position that is going to need some addressing after this offseason is left tackle, as it seems less likely that Rasheed Walker is going to be retained on a long-term contract.
The Cleveland Browns need some extra offensive tackle help about as badly as any team in the league, and with a new head coach who values the deep passing game in Todd Monken in charge, what little of Cleveland's cap space exists could be used on luring Walker away from the Packers.
ESPN, which listed Walker as the top free agent tackle on the market across the entire league, believes that Cleveland will be the best fit for Walker as he tries to earn that very expensive second contract. He would be locked in as the long-term starter, which Green Bay may not be willing to promise him.
Packers OT Rasheed Walker named great fit for Browns in free agency
While the Browns may not have a ton of financial wiggle room due to the Deshaun Watson trade, the combination of their entire starting offensive line possibly hitting free agency and the lack of standout tackle prospects worth selecting in the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft may lead to them spending on Walker.
Walker has been a much better pass blocker than a run blocker throughout his career with the Packers, and that trend held true once again in 2025. The Browns had the worst tackle duo in the league last season when it came to protecting the quarterback, making Walker even more of a no-brainer addition.

If Walker goes to Cleveland, it makes sense that 2025 second-round pick Anthony Belton would slide into the starting lineup. He could then avoid becoming a Jason Spriggs-type who would never play.
Walker's time in Green Bay is likely nearing an end, though even teams like the Browns will be willing to spend what little financial wiggle room they have on ensuring he is a starter.
