Romeo Doubs' expression on the sideline said it all. He looked distraught, almost in disbelief, shaking his head as the Chicago Bears rallied to hand the Green Bay Packers a gut-wrenching overtime defeat.

Doubs' fumble while attempting to recover the Bears' onside kick swung all momentum. The Packers had the game won, but his error opened the door for a stunning comeback.

Following the game, Doubs fronted up to the media, didn't shy away, and took accountability like a true leader.

"I just didn't do the job right. I'll take 100 percent of this game," Doubs said, via The Athletic's Matt Schneidman.

"S---, I missed it. That's just this game, bro. I rep this s--- all week and yeah, bro, somebody gotta be responsible and I'm willing to take on 1000 percent of it," he added.

Romeo Doubs shows his leadership with honest postgame comments

A real leader doesn't shy away from moments like this. Doubs didn't. And let's be honest, while his error ignited a disaster for the ages, the Packers likely wouldn't have even put themselves in such a dominant position without his efforts.

The veteran caught five passes for 84 yards and a touchdown, including a phenomenal 33-yard connection with Malik Willis for a score to put the Packers up 13-3.

To literally add injury to insult, Doubs appeared to get shaken up while attempting to recover his own fumble on the onside kick. He didn't play again in the game, instead having to sit on the sideline and watch the Packers' meltdown unfold.

Doubs put in such a brilliant performance that it didn't deserve to end like this. Mistakes happen. It's football. This one just happens to carry significant playoff ramifications, leaving the Packers in danger of not even reaching the postseason, let alone winning the NFC North.

He understands that. Now, it's over to the Packers to bounce back. All is not lost. They already had to overcome a ton of adversity in this game, most notably losing Micah Parsons for the season.

Doubs deserves praise for the way he handled himself postgame. His error didn't single-handedly cost the Packers the game. They still had two opportunities to keep Caleb Williams out of the end zone, and failed, and they possessed the ball in overtime, where Doubs couldn't make an impact due to the injury he picked up.

Hopefully, he's healthy and able to play in Week 17. The Packers will need him. Doubs showed tremendous leadership in the moments following this game. Now, it's time for a bounce-back performance at Lambeau Field next week.
