Tucker Kraft makes Jordan Love a Thanksgiving promise 1 year in the making
For the second consecutive year, the Green Bay Packers will play on Thanksgiving, only this time, they'll be suiting up at night and hosting the affair at a frozen Lambeau Field. As the players prep for their second straight Thanksgiving matchup, some of them have their eyes on the postgame festivities.
A fun thing that the networks do for the MVPs from the winning team is give them turkey legs to eat on air. A few Packers got to experience this a year ago when they went into Detroit's house and stunned the newly-rejuvenated Lions in a 29-22 victory in the Motor City.
Well, some Packers fans might remember that quarterback Jordan Love was snubbed and did not get to enjoy a turkey leg as promised to the stars of the game. Fortunately, Love's tight end Tucker Kraft has his quarterback's back and is vowing to make sure the Packers signal-caller finally gets his turkey leg in 2024.
What happened last year?
"Pretty sure [FOX broadcaster] Greg [Olsen] actually ripped into it, right?" said Kraft. "He started eating it before we got an opportunity. We'll make sure Jordan gets it this year. We'll make sure about that."
Tucker Kraft wants to make sure that Jordan Love gets his turkey leg this time
As Kraft noted, Greg Olsen was the one accused of this crime against Love. The long-time NFL tight end turned FOX broadcaster was seen shoving his hand into a turducken during the game when the crew was supposed to be showing off the food that would be enjoyed following the game. Nice going there, Greg.
The good news is that the Packers have a chance at a redo here for their quarterback. They'll be hosting the suddenly red-hot Miami Dolphins, who are fighting for their playoff lives with a 5-6 record, but fortunately, the Dolphins aren't used to playing in cold elements, so let's hope the Green Bay weather throws them off their game.
If Love gets a chance to enjoy a turkey leg after a win on Thanksgiving when he didn't get to a year ago, that might go down as the redemption story we all needed. And just in time for the holidays too!
