It required a gutsy effort after losing Jordan Love to injury, but the Green Bay Packers found a way to get over the line against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Packers overcame several key injuries, including to Love, to beat the Jaguars with a walk-off Brandon McManus field goal. Malik Willis did it again, leading Green Bay on a game-winning drive after Jacksonville had tied things up late in the fourth quarter.

Safety Evan Williams left the game with a hamstring injury. Jaire Alexander and Josh Jacobs were in discomfort late in the game, too, adding further concern.

Head coach Matt LaFleur said there is a "high level of concern" about Love's injury, but at least the Packers didn't lose twice. They found a way to win the game and can now focus on Love's recovery.

We don't know who will start at quarterback for the Packers next week, but LaFleur's team strengthened its playoff positioning with an important win.

Updated NFC playoff picture and standings after Week 8

  1. Detroit Lions (6-1)
  2. Washington Commanders (6-2)
  3. Atlanta Falcons (5-3)
  4. Arizona Cardinals (4-4)
  5. Green Bay Packers (6-2)
  6. Minnesota Vikings (5-2)
  7. Philadelphia Eagles (5-2)

Updated after late-window Sunday games.

The Chicago Bears lost in the most Chicago Bears way possible. Jayden Daniels threw a Hail Mary that got tipped into the hands of Noah Brown for give the Washington Commanders a stunning 18-15 win.

The Minnesota Vikings won their opening five games but now sit third in the NFC North. The Detroit Lions moved to 6-1 with a dominant 52-14 win over the Tennessee Titans. Green Bay is keeping up after winning its sixth game. The Packers host the Lions next week.

Elsewhere in the NFC, the Atlanta Falcons picked up an important divisional victory over the injury-hit Tampa Bay Buccaneers, while the Arizona Cardinals pulled off a last-second win over the Miami Dolphins.

The Packers needed this one. They couldn't afford to drop this game with the Lions, Chicago Bears, and San Francisco 49ers up next, entering a brutal part of the schedule.

The NFC North remains wide open after Week 8. The Lions are the clear favorites, and the Packers could have a problem next week if they are without Love. But for now, they have put themselves in a fantastic position entering the second half of the regular season.
