It's not a primetime game, but it feels like one.

The Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions battle for first place in the NFC North at Lambeau Field. The division is the best and most competitive in football at the season's halfway stage, but the drama is only just getting started. This is only the third divisional contest of the year, and it's arguably the most important so far.

Both teams must overcome injuries to take full control of the NFC North on Sunday. The Lions have played more consistent football this season, but the Packers have home-field advantage in what will be Detroit's first outdoor game of the year. Jared Goff's numbers are far less impressive outside of a dome.

It's a game deserving of a primetime spot. That isn't happening, but FOX is sending its No. 1 crew to Lambeau Field.

Announcers for Packers vs. Lions

  • Network: FOX
  • Lead play-by-play announcer: Kevin Burkhardt
  • Color commentator: Tom Brady
  • Sideline reporters: Erin Andrews and Tom Rinaldi

Packers fans have bad memories from one of Tom Brady's last trips to Lambeau Field, but fortunately, he will be in the booth and not on the field crushing their Super Bowl dreams. The Packers are part of America's Game of the Week for the first time this season.

Brady's arrival in the booth has divided opinion among NFL fans, but the Packers fans get to enjoy his commentary for the first time this week.

Referees for Packers vs. Lions

Head referee: Clete Blakeman

In his 15th season, Clete Blakeman is one of the most experienced referees in the league. Before that, he spent two seasons as a field judge. This will be the 17th time he has officiated a Packers game. The last was the team's win over the Los Angeles Rams in 2023.

It's fair to say we can expect to see plenty of flags this week. According to NFL Penalties, Blakeman's crew has handed out 114 penalties this season, the second-most in the league. Their 18.71 flags per game are the third-most. Not great.

Lions fans still remember a controversial game against the Packers from 2019, when Blakeman's crew gifted Green Bay two bizarre illegal hands to the face penalties that helped Matt LaFleur's team win. Hey, call as many flags as you want, as long as they are on the Lions. That's perfectly fine.

Full officiating crew

  • Referee: Clete Blakeman
  • Umpire: Scott Campbell
  • Down Judge: Dana McKenzie
  • Line Judge: Julian Mapp
  • Field Judge: Karina Tovar
  • Side Judge: James Coleman
  • Back Judge: Jonah Monroe
