DaQuan Jones, Defensive Lineman, Penn State
While it has been rumored that the Packers would like to get lighter and faster on the defensive line, they will still need a wide body in the middle of their defensive line at the nose tackle position. If B.J. Raji and Ryan Pickett aren’t brought back, Green Bay could look to the draft for the nose tackle of the future. I believe Jones could be a natural fit here for the Packers. He is very good at taking on multiple blockers and excels as a run stuffer and has a good nose for the ball. However, he can be slow off the snap. Some like him at defensive end better than at nose. I would disagree.

Combine Watch: Jones is someone you draft based on potential. Scouts will be evaluating him at the combine to see if he has the tools to become dominant at the next level. Showing good upper and lower body strength will ease the minds of scouts. Also, his weigh-in will not only tell scouts about his current condition, but possibly his preferred NFL position.

Any one of these players could easily be the Green Bay Packers next third round steal. Don’t sleep on these names. They very well could be called during the third round of this May’s NFL draft.
