That right there is a large list of receivers, and of course I don’t expect them all to make an impact this week. Hell, one won’t even suit up and a couple might not see any snaps, depending how the game goes.
Just take a minute to look at that talent! You have Jordy acting a the legitimate #1 option to the point of being called by many – and if he keeps it up, by the majority of people – a top-three WR in the league; his stats definitely back that up. Cobb has been an underneath-and-TD monster, with only Julius Thomas of Denver outpacing him in TDs. Boykin showed ability last year as a #3 receiver, Adams is doing the same this year, Dorsey has returner ability, and Janis brings a size/speed combination that could stretch the field in a way the others are unable to.
In terms of fantasy impact, it may just be more of the usual for now. Past Cobb and Nelson, the others are either injured (Boykin) or haven’t done enough to earn touches (Adams) and/or snaps (Dorsey/Janis). That may change in future weeks, but until proven otherwise it is smart to wait until those guys show an ability to see the field and make catches when it counts.
Nelson should see a bunch of Cortland Finnegan out there, but Nelson should do well against him – he loves physical play the Finnegan-types like to bring. And expect those underneath passes to Cobb be highly effective, especially in the middle – LBs are the weak spot for the Dolphin defense. Expect those two to produce big for Rodgers yet again, with Cobb leading the way this time.
Predictions: 75 yards, 1 TD (Nelson); 125 yards, 1 TD (Cobb); 30 yards (All others)
Verdict: Start (Nelson, Cobb); Do Not Start (All others)
