Defense
Last week, Green Bay’s defense put up what had to be their most dominant effort of the year. Because of some garbage-time scoring, however, the effort didn’t look quite as good for fantasy players.
Still, with defense being almost as hard to predict week-to-week as kickers, it hasn’t been a bad run. For five weeks, they have put up at least 6 points (12, 6, 22, 7, 6) and been a decent contributor for fantasy teams.
If there is a week to stay away from them, however … this is that week.
The Saints, while injured in key areas across their offense (Jimmy Graham, Pierre Thomas, Khiry Robinson), can still put up points in a hurry. Add in the home game and raucous crowd on top of their 2-4 desperation, and they NEED this game.
That lackluster defense isn’t going to save them, so the offense is going to be what steps up.
I’m hoping for a strong effort from Green Bay on defense still, but if they do get one it will probably not be the kind that translates into a strong fantasy effort, unfortunately.
Look elsewhere this week, people.
Prediction: 27 Points Allowed, 1 Sacks, 1 Turnover Forced
Verdict: Do Not Start
