QB – Aaron Rodgers
Last Week: 19/29, 209 passing yards, 2 TDs, 34 rush yards; 19.76 fantasy points
Judging by the statistics, Rodgers ended up having a down game by his standards; for most QBs, just under 20 fp is a good week, but not for Rodgers. He and Packers fans everywhere will gladly take the win, but fantasy owners may have ended up somewhat disappointed.
Back at home in a game that has all the makings of a shootout, expect him to jump back up to his usual heights. There should be a little caution going into this; the Patriots defense is the best-suited unit for handling what the Packers’ offense can dish out that Green Bay has faced since Seattle and Detroit.
That doesn’t mean they’ll stop them, or really even slow them THAT much…but they have the skills to break up a few drives. Whether they do that or not could decide this game.
But in terms of stopping Rodgers from having a great performance overall? I just don’t see it. He’s going to play pretty well regardless what the Patriots throw at him. Being at home will be an even bigger boost; if he can play on somewhere near the level he has at home all season, my stat projections will be reached pretty handily.
Prediction: 350 passing yards, 20 rushing yards 3 TDs (passing), 1 INT; 27 Fantasy Points
Verdict: Must-Start
