Green Bay Packers at Oakland Raiders

Aside from the sentimental journey of heading to Oakland to take on former Packers James Jones, Charles Woodson and C.J. Wilson, this is nearly a gimme game.

But not so fast …

The Packers have been to the “Black Hole” before and have come away with some easy wins.

But if there’s ever a trap game that might sink Green Bay, it could be this one against the Raiders.

This is a team that has shown some improvement in personnel the past couple of seasons, but it’s been the massive turnover in players, coaches and attitude that seems to have held this team back from making any inroads toward the playoffs.

Again, no matter when these teams play it should be a game the Packers win.

I cannot see the Packers going to the West Coast and losing to Derek Carr, no matter how impressive he was as a rookie.

This is the type of game that Green Bay should win easily, especially with the NFL’s best player and MVP at quarterback. With Aaron Rodgers under center, there’s no reason the Packers shouldn’t do to the Raiders what they did to the Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles last season – scoring at will on both sides of the ball.

But given that 2015 will be a new season, the ability to predict is difficult. We still have the Draft, the OTAs and training camp to complete before the regular season rolls around.

But with all things considered, the Packers should come out of Oakland with a win – a convincing win.

Prediction: Packers 35 Raiders 20
