James Jones: Familiar with the system

James Jones knows the system.

After spending his first seven seasons in the league with the Green Bay Packers and as a former third-round pick in the draft, James Jones is already full immersed in the Packers offensive system.

Yes, McCarthy has given up playcalling duties, but the offense remains the same.

Tom Clements, the new play-caller, knows Jones and what he is capable of – and the playbook can’t have changed that much from last year to this.

He will take some “getting up to speed” on new checks and calls at the line of scrimmage, but the verbiage should be the only real adjustment he will need to make.
