25. Aaron Rodgers takes over for Favre

Multiple people were upset.

The fact that the Green Bay Packers had moved on from their franchise quarterback who had decided to retire and then un-retire, was puzzling after what he had done for this franchise. You could see more New York Jets’ Brett Favre jerseys in Green Bay, than Aaron Rodgers’ jersey for this game.

Everybody was unsure how Rodgers would reciprocate Favre’s hall of fame career, and could not wrap their head around #4 not being under center any longer. Fans speculated that the Packers had run Favre out of town in favor of Rodgers, who they had drafted in the first round three years earlier.

Rodgers was able to beat the Minnesota Vikings, who ultimately ended up winning the division, on Monday Night Football. Although Brett Favre was a great player for the Green Bay Packers organization, the passing of the torch to Rodgers ended up working out for the organization.

Though Rodgers went 6-10 in his first season, with a depleted and injured team he led the Packers to a Super Bowl Championship in 2010, and like Favre, will go down as one of the greatest quarterbacks of all time.
