DT Robert Nkemdiche

Robert Nkemdiche is one of the most talented defensive linemen entering the 2016 NFL Draft, but the Packers should stay well clear for a number of reasons.

First is the off-the-field issues. In December Nkemdiche fell 15 feet out of a window, and after further investigation he was arrested for possession of marijuana. Along with this comes a major red flag for all 32 NFL teams, and the often cautious Packers should be wary.

But Nkemdiche’s problems don’t end once he crosses the white line onto the field. At the scouting combine in February, he admitted to being lazy on certain plays and not always giving 100 percent effort.

"“There’s times I didn’t finish, times I was lazy on some plays,” he said. “But I told (NFL teams) I’m going to keep growing as a player and I’m going to keep learning how to finish and I’m going to keep becoming more of a student of the game and focus on being the best NFL player I can be.”"

For these reasons, the Packers are better off taking their pick from a deep pool of talent at defensive tackle, and not going through the inevitable headaches of having Nkemdiche on the roster.
