Will Ted Thompson trade back in the first round?

Ted Thompson has been known to trade up and to trade down, but the most burning question has we head into this weekend is whether Thompson will trade at all.

He’s got three players to draft in the fourth round — a round where Thompson has found success in the past — especially among offensive linemen.

So, would Thompson consider trading out of the first round and back into the second to pick up another later round option?

In my mind, it’s very possible. While Packers fans will be heard screaming about it on Thursday night, it could be an option where Thompson could pick up a guy like Henry Hunter in the second round and then a defensive lineman in the third round or so.

With a trade, Thompson could try to add another fourth- or fifth-rounder where he could stock up on offensive linemen, maybe a wide receiver or even a running back.

Trades are ways for teams to stockpile draft picks and because the Packers are on the back end of that first round, trading back for more picks may be a viable option for the general manager.
