Jeff Janis

Jeff Janis is a true fan favorite and certainly made the best of limited opportunities on the field last season. Two heroic Hail Mary grabs to save the Packers’ season in Arizona paired with a strong campaign on special teams stood out.

Why he should make the roster: Janis has the combination of size, speed and athleticism you can’t teach. If the Packers can get him running routes better and on the same page as the quarterback, he could become something special.

In one drive at Arizona last season he flashed all of his raw tools. Lightning speed, tremendous leaping ability and good hands.

Why the Packers should move on: Janis has the physical tools, but to this point he’s failed to put it all together. If there aren’t significant improvements to his route-running and intricacies of the wide receiver position, the Packers might decide to move on.

At some point, Janis needs to become the player he can be. This is a critical third season for him, and it begins by showcasing his improvements in training camp and establishing some chemistry with the quarterback.

I have a feeling route-running is going to be a point of emphasis for the young receivers.
