K – Mason Crosby

Week 3 Statistics: 4/4 PATs, 2 FGs (36, 46); 11.00 fantasy points

Crosby’s production is directly tied to how well the offense is doing. When they do well, he tends to have a good output; if they don’t he’s stuck with just a kick or two, and that’s not going to do much fantasy-wise most weeks.

With the offense waking up against Detroit, now feels like a great time to jump on the Crosby train. He still has never missed an XP under the 33-yard rule instituted last season, and rarely misses kicks from any part of the field.

With the way I expect the game to go (offense in bunches, with a few key defensive plays on each side), multiple field goals and XPs seem like a good bet for Green Bay’s reliable kicker.

You could probably find a higher-ceiling option out there, but Crosby has one of the higher expected floors on a week-to-week basis.

Barring a complete offensive collapse or an all-TD outcome, it’s usually safe to assume he’ll give your fantasy team a decent amount of points to work with, and this week is no different.

Week 5 Prediction: 2 FGs (2 30-39 yards), 3 XPs; 8.00 fantasy points

Verdict: Worthwhile Option
