Cornerback

There’s no bigger need for the Packers than at cornerback. Damarious Randall, Quinten Rollins, and LaDarius Gunter make up the top three corners on the depth chart as of today.

While Thompson won’t find a shutdown corner on the market and will need to find one in the draft, he can still add a talented, veteran presence to the secondary.

Morris ClaiborneInjuries have plagued Claiborne throughout his career, and he’s yet to suit up in all 16 games in a season. That will drive down his asking price, but when healthy he performed at a high level in 2016. On a short-term, “prove it” type deal, it would be win-win for the Packers.

Brandon FlowersFlowers’ future depends largely on his health. A history of concussions and a large salary led to his release by the Chargers. If healthy, he would provide an instant upgrade to the Packers secondary.

Davon HouseHouse left Green Bay two years ago after receiving a much better offer in Jacksonville. House will never be a No. 1 cornerback, but he would be a smart signing.

Nickell Robey-ColemanRobey-Coleman’s work is restricted to the slot, but he’s a talented player who could play a role for the Pack.

At just 5-foot-8, Thompson might be put off. But at the right price, he might be worth a flier.
