NFL: Top 15 edge rushers ahead of the 2018 season
10. Cameron Jordan (New Orleans Saints)
The Saints haven’t been known for their defense throughout the 2010s, but names such as Cameron Jordan and Marshon Lattimore are starting to change that. Jordan is one of the best names on an underrated defense.
9. Melvin Ingram (Los Angeles Chargers)
Ingram is one of the most underrated defensive players in the league. People primarily talk about his ability as a pass rusher, but he also excels as a run stopper.
8. J.J. Watt (Houston Texans)
Watt, if healthy, is the best pass rusher in the league. The reason why he is this low on the list is the fact that he has only played in eight games over the past two seasons. If he plays all 16 games this year, he could easily be back at number one.
7. Everson Griffen (Minnesota Vikings)
Griffen is a leader on one of the best defenses in the league. I have underrated him in the past, but that won’t happen anymore. The tandem of Danielle Hunter and Everson Griffen is special.
6. Demarcus Lawrence (Dallas Cowboys)
Lawrence has a very lucrative contract coming up. I could see it going for over $100 million (obviously not fully guaranteed – those contracts will be for quarterbacks only over the next few seasons). Lawrence, unlike a lot of the other players in the top 10 of this list, doesn’t have a top pass rusher alongside him.
