Sit ‘Em

Aaron Jones

Packers fans across the board have waited in excitement to see Mister Showtime himself come back to play after his two-game suspension. Unfortunately, if people are looking to play him in fantasy, they might want to tap the breaks this week.

Mike McCarthy made a statement earlier this week that Jamaal Williams and Ty Montgomery will still be the two leading backs against Washington. The Green Bay offense will slowly work Jones back in with a light workload.

It’s safer to sit Jones just by the pure volume of snaps he’ll be playing this week. Williams is the better pass protector, so he’ll be in the huddle a lot more purely to help protect Rodgers in the pocket. Jones will have his opportunities, but it might not happen until Rodgers’ knee has improved more.

Packers rookie WRs

A lot of Packers fans most likely drafted one of the rookies, such as J’Mon Moore, very late as a potential sleeper. Jake Kumerow was probably on a lot of peoples’ watch list as well.

The reality is Green Bay’s starting three wide receivers have played great the first two weeks, and aren’t being replaced any time soon. The only way we’ll see a rookie get a bigger workload is due to injury, and the good news for Green Bay is their wide receivers have been healthy so far.

If there’s a question on who to play in the FLEX this week, it’s better to stick to a safe route and not attempt a trick play. Looks like Marquez Valdes-Scantling will have to still remain on that lonely bench spot one more week.
