2. Mason Crosby

Mason Crosby is one of the most underrated kickers in the NFL. Not only has he regularly put up good numbers, but he also maintains his consistency despite playing in tough, frozen conditions regularly at Lambeau Field. Crosby doesn’t have the luxury of playing indoors at least eight times a season.

While Crosby’s statistics in 2018 weren’t bad, they did fall below his high standards. Crosby missed seven of his 37 field goal attempts and two extra-point attempts, finishing with a field goal percentage of 81.1. That number was actually up from the year before (78.9 percent in 2017), but it’s worth noting Crosby only attempted 19 field goals that season. He had previously never had less than 28 attempts in a season.

Four of Crosby’s seven field goal misses last year came in one game — Week 5 at Detroit. One of his two extra-point misses also came in that game. Over the other 15 games, Crosby converted 29 of 32 field goals (90.6 percent).

But also surprising was the timing of some of Crosby’s misses. He had a chance to kick a game-winner in Week 2 against the Vikings, and also missed a game-tying kick against the Cardinals.

But Crosby has made so many important kicks throughout his career, including last season’s game-winner against the 49ers, and he’ll get back to his best in 2019.
