1. Dalvin Cook, Minnesota Vikings

Dalvin Cook, a second-round pick two years ago, has the potential to be not only the NFC North’s number one running back, but also one of the best in the NFL. Cook has all the talent to be a star in the Minnesota Vikings offense, but he’s been unlucky with injuries in his first two seasons in the league, missing a combined 17 games since the start of 2017.

In 11 games last season, Cook finished with 615 rushing yards and two touchdowns, along with 40 catches for 305 yards and two TDs.

And NFL.com analyst Terrell Davis believes that the hire of Gary Kubiak can help bring the best out of Cook in 2019:

"“Knowing Kubiak’s history, Cook should get a lot of opportunities this season, far more than the 133 carries he had in 2018. The third-year pro has the natural ability to be a top-10 running back, and we’ve seen glimpses of his talent in the last two seasons.”"

An improved offensive line will also help Cook. If he stays healthy and plays all 16 games, he could have a huge season.

Entering the season, Cook is my choice for the number one running back in the NFC North.
