Stock up: Aaron Jones

Wow. What a performance. Aaron Jones dominated two years ago when the Packers played at this stadium, but this was by far the best game of his career so far.

There were some question marks about the Packers’ run game after the opening quarter of the season. They had no success against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4. That night, the team had a total of just 77 rushing yards, and over half of them were by Aaron Rodgers. Jones only had 21 yards on 13 carries.

But that all changed on Sunday against Dallas, and we were reminded just how great a player Jones is. Without Jamaal Williams available due to injury, Jones would need to take on the bulk of the carries with Tra Carson playing a complementary role.

Well, 182 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns later, it’s fair to say it worked out quite well. Jones looked good all game long and the Cowboys’ defense simply had no answer. He broke tackles, outran defenders and made the most of just about every running lane opened up by the offensive line, again highlighting his excellent vision.

Jones leads the NFL in rushing touchdowns with eight. With injuries on offense, the Packers desperately needed a big performance from Jones, and he delivered.
