4. Za’Darius Smith

If someone said the Green Bay Packers are lacking leadership on defense, they have not been paying attention to the team. Za’Darius and Preston Smith have both been leaders in the locker room and on the field. They have been the catalyst for the team’s performance during the first five weeks.

With the Cowboys down their best lineman — All-Pro left tackle Tyron Smith — Za’Darius Smith disrupted Dak Prescott and the Cowboys’ offense all game long. His two sacks were both on critical third downs and took points off the board.

Smith was a warrior out there, playing through an injured knee that needed to be looked at on more than one occasion, but he kept coming back and making plays.

His game wasn’t perfect though. Smith had a couple costly penalties and could’ve had another when he was caught on camera taunting Prescott after an interception.

The Smiths have been the heartbeat of this defense all season long. They are having fun doing it and their swagger and personalities are all over this defense. GM Brian Gutekunst really hit the nail on the head with these two players.
