5. Kevin King

Ten days after putting in a great game against Alshon Jeffery and the Eagles, Kevin King followed it up with another solid performance against the Cowboys.

After not practicing all week because of a groin injury, no-one expected King to play Sunday. But he did, and he did so in grand fashion. The Packers needed his performance. Jaire Alexander had a bit of a rough game matched up against Amari Cooper. Cooper had over 200 yards receiving and a touchdown.

King made sure to make them pay when throwing his way. After dropping a sure interception earlier in the game, King held on to the ball for a critical pick in the fourth quarter.

King exited the game early again, this time with a bruised knee. Hopefully, it’s nothing serious as this defense is much better with him and Alexander on the field.

I know the stats at the end of this game say it was a bad night for the defense, especially the passing game. But sometimes stats don’t tell the whole story. It took almost three quarters of the game before Dallas got going, and by then they were already down 31-3.

Next up is a chance for the Packers to have a clean sweep in the first round of NFC North matchups.

Matt Patricia has the Lions playing better than anyone expected. It won’t be an easy task, but hopefully the Packers will get some players back healthy and continue their winning ways.
