Aaron Jones

Forget just the Pro Bowl, we might be talking about the future league MVP. Ok, maybe that’s getting a little too far ahead. But the way Aaron Jones is playing, he’s certainly entering that conversation.

Defenses don’t have an answer for how to stop Jones. He’s formed an outstanding 1-2 punch in the backfield with Jamaal Williams. Jones is explosive between the tackles and reliable as a receiver. Outside of dropping a touchdown catch against the Detroit Lions, Jones hasn’t made too many mistakes as a pass catcher.

His 14 total touchdowns is tied with Christian McCaffrey for the league lead. What makes it even more impressive is that McCaffrey has had 185 rushing attempts compared to Jones’ 135, and 48 receptions compared to Jones’ 35. Yet they are level in touchdowns.

There are so many talented running backs in the NFC, but the way Jones is playing, it’d be hard to leave him out. McCaffrey and Dalvin Cook will be Pro Bowlers. But right now, who would the third spot go to? I’d have Jones ahead of Ezekiel Elliott, Saquon Barkley and Alvin Kamara.

Jones has 14 total touchdowns this season. Elliott, Barkley and Kamara have 11 combined.

If Jones keeps playing this well, he should make the Pro Bowl.
