4. Get Jones involved in the passing game

Zero receptions on one target. That was Aaron Jones‘ receiving numbers in the first game against the 49ers. The passing offense struggled throughout the game, but they didn’t get Jones involved as a receiver, which was a mistake.

When Jones is playing well, the offense is tough to stop. That’s never going to be easy against the 49ers’ fast and suffocating defense, but Matt LaFleur needs to get the ball to Jones as often as he can.

Jones struggled on the ground against the Niners with 13 carries for 38 yards. Jamaal Williams fared better, averaging 4.1 yards per carry from his 11 attempts.

Davante Adams is going to see a lot of Richard Sherman, and hurting the 49ers defense deep down the field won’t be easy. If LaFleur can get Jones more involved and get him the ball in space, the Packers will be able to do some damage.

To win this game, the Packers will need Jones to have a big impact both as a runner and receiver. If the 49ers cover him with a linebacker at any point, the offense needs to take advantage.

If Jones has 20-plus touches and is involved frequently as a receiver, Green Bay will have a chance to pull off the upset.
