3. Sign a run-stopping defensive tackle

Another area the Packers surprisingly didn’t address throughout the draft was the defensive line. And this comes after missing out on a number of talented free-agent defensive tackles back in March, including Michael Pierce.

Fortunately, it’s not too late to change that. The Packers could still add some more talent up front by signing a free agent to a one-year deal.

One option could be Damon Harrison, who has played for the New York Jets, New York Giants and Detroit Lions since 2012. Harrison was a first-team All-Pro in 2016. Harrison has been an excellent run defender throughout his career, and while he’s 31, he could help Green Bay’s defense improve against the run in 2020.

Another option would be to bring back former Packer Mike Daniels, a Pro Bowler in Green Bay back in 2017. He was surprisingly released by the Packers before the start of the 2019 season, but he’s now a free agent again.

Green Bay will hope second-year Kingsley Keke can step up in 2020 but it would also make sense to add some more experience to the defensive line. And doing so wouldn’t need to have a big impact on the salary cap. The Packers did little in the draft to help the run defense. Signing a defensive tackle could help that.
