Packers 2020 schedule release: Predictions for every game, final record
Week 1: at Minnesota Vikings
The Packers had the perfect game plan when they went into U.S. Bank Stadium last season, pulling off their first victory in the Minnesota Vikings’ new home. I predict Matt LaFleur will have another strong game plan and Green Bay upsets Minnesota with arguably the most important road win of the season. Green Bay 23, Minnesota 20 (1-0)
Week 2: Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions could be the most improved team in the NFC North this season. Jeff Okudah could be a star at cornerback, although they’ve lost Darius Slay. The offense should be improved with a returning Matthew Stafford and the addition of second-round pick D’Andre Swift. Like both games last year, it will be close, but the Packers get the win at home. Green Bay 24, Detroit 20 (2-0)
Week 3: at New Orleans Saints
This is one of the toughest venues to win at for visiting teams in the league, and it doesn’t help that the New Orleans Saints have a great roster. The Packers get off to a slow start and Mike Pettine’s defense can’t get off the field trying to stop Drew Brees, Alvin Kamara, Michael Thomas, and Emmanuel Sanders. New Orleans 35, Green Bay 21 (2-1)
Week 4: Atlanta Falcons
This is a big season for Atlanta Falcons head coach Dan Quinn. The Falcons will be hoping Todd Gurley can get back to his best and help this offense become a dominant unit again. Julio Jones will, once again, be the Packers’ biggest concern. But the home team has dominated this rivalry for some time, and I expect that to continue. Green Bay 30, Atlanta 21 (3-1)
