3. Packers earn important road win

On the road against another NFC contender, this will be one of the toughest matchups on the schedule. But I have the Packers winning this one.

Aaron Rodgers looks in the zone and is playing some of his best football for over half a decade. If Adams is out, it’ll definitely hurt the Packers offense, but this team has plenty of playmakers to hurt the Saints’ defense. New Orleans’ defense is talented but has shown this season it’s far from dominant. The Raiders’ success throwing the football on Monday night should encourage Matt LaFleur and the Packers offense.

While there are certainly concerns about how the run defense will play in a matchup with Alvin Kamara and Latavius Murray, Brees hasn’t been at his best. Likely without Thomas, I like the Packers’ defense in this matchup. Between Za’Darius Smith, Rashan Gary, and Preston Smith, they will be able to generate some pressure up front. The tackling will need to be strong if the Saints look to pass short; it could be an important game for Christian Kirksey.

This could be a battle of the offenses. In that case, give me the Packers. Green Bay has great balance on offense. Stack the box and Rodgers will pick you apart through the air. Drop more into coverage and Jones will pile up the yards on the ground.

The Packers continue their perfect start and pick up a huge road victory in Week 3.
