Packers: Three winners from Week 9 win against the 49ers

A building block for MVS?
Winner #3: Marquez Valdez-Scantling
MVS has been the butt of a lot of criticism, dating all the way back to last year. The third-year receiver is one of the most inconsistent players on the entire Green Bay Packers roster. He had a nice game on Thursday which is great to see.
Marquez Valdez-Scantling has been one of the more frustrating players on the roster for a while now. He’s in his third year in the league now and this was a make it-or-break it season for him. So far, he has been a disappointment and his Packers career is in jeopardy at the end of this season.
Marquez had another drop last night on his first target but did improve after that. He was able to get two touchdowns, for 53 yards, on two catches. He is the number two receiver in Allen Lazard’s absence, basically by default.
The Packers are desperate for another wide receiver to step up. MVS, as I said, has been a disappointment so far but a decent game like this is a great way to get back on track. With Lazard also seemingly coming back soon, MVS will see less attention when on the field and can then use his speed to open up the offense.
