Week 14: at Detroit Lions

The Packers have won three in a row against the Detroit Lions under Matt LaFleur, but each time they were given a tough test. In both wins last season, Green Bay didn’t lead until Mason Crosby converted walk-off field goals. In Week 2 this year, the Packers eventually won 42-21 but had to overcome a 14-3 deficit.

Expect another tough contest when the Packers return to Ford Field in Week 14.

The Lions have been inconsistent this season. They have some impressive victories such as against the Arizona Cardinals, but they’ve also had a number of head-scratching performances like this past weekend when they were shutout by the Carolina Panthers.

Detroit is No. 25 in total offense and No. 27 in total defense, not the recipe for success. Despite that, Green Bay should expect a tough game as ever in Week 14. Divisional games are never easy and their recent record at Ford Field isn’t all that great. Over the past seven games on the road against the Lions, the Packers are 3-4.

But there’s no doubt the Packers are the better team. And up against a defense that has allowed the third-most rushing yards per game entering Week 12, LaFleur’s offense should find success and be able to control the tempo of the game.

It’ll be another challenging road game in Detroit, but Green Bay gets the win.

Prediction: Packers 23, Lions 17 (10-3)
