Aaron Rodgers made his MVP case on Sunday

Winner #1: Aaron Rodgers

Aaron Rodgers and the Packers came into Soldier Field on Sunday with a lot to still play for in the 2020 season. The team still had a top seed to clinch, while the QB had an MVP to win. With Patrick Mahomes being inactive for the Kansas City Chiefs, it became Rodgers’ MVP to lose.

I think it’s safe to say that his play did not hurt his case on Sunday. Rodgers played a masterful game, completing his first 10 passes before an MVS drop that would have gone for six. He was essentially perfect in the first half and his great play continued in the second.

Rodgers has owned the Bears over the course of his career and has given way to some very memorable moments throughout the rivalry. He added another to the list on Sunday. His fantastic play led the way for a Green Bay offense that was dominant throughout most of the game. Rodgers added another four touchdowns to bring his total to 48.

This is a career-high for the future Hall-of-Famer and he now owns the two highest single-season passer ratings of all-time.

Packers fans have seen some great teams over the last 30 or so years but 2020 really feels different than the rest of them. The offense is borderline unstoppable and the defense has shown that they can be good enough when they need to be.

It’s a shame that the Packers have only gotten Rodgers one ring over the course of his career but thankfully, Green Bay has a great chance of rectifying that this season.
