Carolina Panthers

This move would surely be less interesting to the Packers for one clear reason. The Carolina Panthers are an NFC team. Would Green Bay actually consider trading Rodgers to a team inside the same conference? I’m not so sure. But I include the Panthers in this article because they are a team that could reach the next level with Rodgers.

The Panthers have quietly built a very talented roster, even if their recent regular-season records don’t show that. If they can get the quarterback situation fixed, they can be a very strong team in the NFC.

Carolina has a number of talented young players on the roster like wide receiver DJ Moore, safety Jeremy Chinn, and edge rusher Brian Burns. The Panthers also put together another strong draft class, on paper at least, selecting cornerback Jaycee Horn and wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. with their top two picks.

And don’t forget about all-world running back Christian McCaffrey. Put Rodgers in that offense and they could dominate their division.

For that reason, it’s tough to imagine the Packers making a trade to a conference rival. However, if the Panthers offer a number of future picks and one or two young players, maybe it’s a deal they should consider.
