Aaron Rodgers trade from Packers to Titans

While the Denver Broncos may seem like the most obvious landing spot for Aaron Rodgers, it would be easy to understand why a move to the Tennessee Titans might interest him. After all, the Titans were the AFC’s top seed last season, achieving this without star running back Derrick Henry for much of the year.

With a supporting cast of Henry, A.J. Brown, and Julio Jones, the sky would be the limit for Tennessee’s offense with Rodgers.

To make it work, the Packers would need plenty in return for the back-to-back MVP winner. This trade would include the Titans’ next three first-round picks. This year, that would be the 26th overall selection.

This move would help the Packers start over without Rodgers, while the Titans wouldn’t have to give up any of their current players.

However, a couple of things would make a trade with the Titans challenging. The first is Tennessee’ cap situation. Per Spotrac, the Titans are almost $7 million over the cap as things stand. They would need to create room for Rodgers’ deal before working on an extension.

The other issue is that Tennessee doesn’t have a second-round pick this year. Would the Titans be willing to send a 2022 third-rounder? That would mean having zero picks inside the opening three rounds. For that reason, I have them giving up second-rounders in both 2023 and 2024 instead.
