Packers three-round mock draft featuring Jordan Love blockbuster trade
Packers trade with Seahawks
Remember when I said not to panic about the lack of wide receivers picked early on? This is why. After trading a second-round pick to the Steelers for Diontae Johnson, the Packers send their third-rounder and quarterback Jordan Love to the Seattle Seahawks for Pro Bowl wide receiver Tyler Lockett.
Whereas Johnson is great at picking up yards after the catch, Lockett is one of the best deep threats in the NFL and would add much-needed speed to Green Bay’s offense.
A three-time All-Pro, Lockett has put together three straight 1,000-yard seasons in Seattle.
Lombardi Ave’s Timothy Lindsey wrote about the possibility of a Jordan Love trade to the Seahawks, and why not? Seattle has traded away star quarterback Russell Wilson and is currently moving forward with Drew Lock. As the Seahawks prepare for a rebuild, why not bring in a former first-round pick to develop? Love could potentially become QB1 in Seattle at some point.
Lockett turns 30 in September. The Seahawks are starting over. By the time they are ready to compete in the NFC, Lockett will likely be gone anyway. In this trade, they get a young quarterback to develop along with a third-round pick to help their rebuild.
The Packers get their WR1 — a perfect complement to Johnson — with a star in Lockett.
