New York Giants

Another team likely to be searching for a new quarterback next year is the New York Giants.

The Giants selected Daniel Jones with the sixth overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft but, to this point, he has struggled.

Jones showed some promise in his rookie season when he threw for 3,027 yards, 24 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions, while also rushing for two touchdowns.

However, his numbers have declined since. Over the past two seasons, Jones has thrown for a combined 5,371 yards with 21 touchdowns and 17 interceptions.

The Giants decided not to pick up Jones’ fifth-year option this offseason.

It means the former first-round pick will become a free agent in 2023 unless the two sides agree to a long-term contract extension.

By not picking up his fifth-year option, all signs seem to be pointing to the Giants moving on at the end of the season, unless he puts together a great fourth year.

Perhaps the Giants will turn to the draft to find their replacement. But in Love, they would be getting a former first-round pick who has developed his game over a few seasons.

New York decided against drafting a QB high this past offseason. Trading for Love in 2023 would allow them to strengthen in other areas on draft day.
