Romeo Doubs is the best rookie receiver at training camp

The wide receiver competition will take center stage at training camp, and understandably so.

Early on, the starting trio will likely be Allen Lazard, Sammy Watkins, and Randall Cobb. The rookies will need to prove themselves before earning significant snaps.

But fourth-round pick Romeo Doubs could surprise a few people at training camp.

Long-term, Doubs can be a talented starter for the Packers. Early on, his ability to get open deep downfield could make him a home-run hitter and earn him snaps.

According to Pro Football Focus, Doubs had eight touchdowns of 20+ yards at Nevada last season. Touchdowns, not just receptions. And Doubs has already made some impressive catches this offseason.

Doubs could be a standout performer this summer and show how he can help this offense in year one.

Josiah Deguara doesn’t make the roster

Former third-round pick Josiah Deguara enters an important few weeks. He’s struggled to land a featured role on offense, and he now faces competition from other tight ends on the roster.

We know Robert Tonyan and Marcedes Lewis are at the top of the depth chart. But Deguara will face competition from Tyler Davis and Dominique Dafney.

Unless he shows signs of taking a step in year three, Deguara could be a surprise cut.
