Packers: 5 players who are shining at training camp after one week

EDGE Rashan Gary
Rashan Gary is set for a huge season. One week into training camp, and he has already been absolutely dominant.
“Rashan is the tone-setter,” said head coach Matt LaFleur on Friday. “He’s got the capability of wrecking practice. He probably would’ve had four sacks yesterday. He’s relentless.”
Rashan Gary would’ve sent Aaron Rodgers to Manitowoc during that move-the-ball period if he was allowed to hit the QB.

Aaron Rodgers will be relieved Gary wasn’t allowed to sack him at practice. Gary has been consistently generating pressure.
It’s not just Gary’s pass-rushing ability that should excite fans, but also his leadership.
How about this note from Andy Herman during Monday’s practice? Gary joined the No. 2 defense’s huddle to fire them up.
Rashan Gary just ran into the number 2 defenses huddle to fire them up. The leadership from 52 is real. Defense responds by giving nowhere for Love to throw.

The former first-round pick enters this year’s training camp as the No. 1 edge rusher on the team. That’s new to him, as he began last summer as a backup behind the Smith Bros.
Gary is going to be a real problem for offensive tackles across the league this season. You could make a great case for Gary being the Packers’ most important defensive player in 2022 and one of the most talented players on the roster at any position.
He put together an excellent 2021 season. If he can continue to build on the start he has made to training camp, Gary will be in the conversation for NFL Defensive Player of the Year.
