Packers: Jordan Love will start vs. 49ers in preseason Week 1
By Joseph Rowan
Jordan Love has a big opportunity to prove his worth to the Green Bay Packers‘ front office this Friday during the Week 1 preseason matchup against the San Francisco 49ers.
The shocking 26th overall selection in the 2020 NFL Draft, Jordan Love has to demonstrate his potential to the Packers by playing well in the preseason.
It is no surprise that Love is getting the starting job in the preseason as NFL teams have consistently sat starters to reduce injuries and give them a rest.
Love started the preseason last year but got hurt and missed the rest of the first game and all of the second. Following that in the final preseason game, Love shared snaps with former third-string/practice squad quarterback Kurt Benkert.

Throughout training camp, Love has looked better than ever and could be coming into his own.
Although Aaron Rodgers just signed a massive extension with the team, Love could be the future of the franchise once Rodgers retires.
Even if the Green Bay Packers decide to part ways with the third-year quarterback, Love playing well in the preseason could improve his trade value, and he could have an opportunity with another team.
Love’s tenure with the Green Bay Packers has been a turbulent one to say the least. During his first year on the Packers roster, he was considered to be the next starter as Aaron Rodgers had a rocky relationship with the front office.
As the relationship was repaired, Love was sitting behind Rodgers for his second season, getting a few reps here and there.
With Aaron Rodgers signing a three-year extension earlier this offseason, the future of Jordan Love hangs in the balance.
